Calling All Parents of Preschoolers in Lakemoor Hills

Hi everyone! My family and I just moved back to Knoxville this month after living in DC and various places overseas for the past decade or so.  I’d like to start getting to know my neighbors and especially other families with young children.  Can I get a quick roll-call of those families with preschool aged children interested in a get-together? After I gauge the level of interest, I’ll host an informal event at my place.

I do not have any small children in my home, but I thought I’d let you know about a great resource that starts this Sept. 9. Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) women’s group meets at Sevier Heights Church on Wed. (Sept – May) mornings and has an excellent children’s program for preschool children – 6 months to kindergarten. The women meet separately to do their study for 2 hours and the children have a wonderful program in a different part of the facility. I’ve been attending for a number of years and have taught in the children’s area for the past 2 years. This is a non-denominational group, it just happens to use Sevier Heights facility for their meetings. 9 AM to 11 AM.

Jessica, your timing is rather extraordinary. Just last Thursday I took my 3.5 year old son, Carl and his baby sister, Nova, of 13 months to the Maloney Park playground – we have some landscaping to do before we have one of our own.

While at the park I had considered starting some sort of group for the little ones of Lakemoor Hills. Since we have been here, I have been delighted to discover how well knit this community is and am glad to be a part of it. There are quite a few other groups that my wife and I are unable to take part in as we are either working sleeping or being with our own kids.

So what a great way to embrace the community and introduce our kids to one another.

    On that note…
We are also looking for an in-home day-care or part time nanny arrangement. If you (or anybody else) know of someone here in LMH, please let us know.

    Thank you!

My husband and I live on Manor Road and we have a 5 year old foster daughter. She will start kindergarten in the fall but we’ll happily include her in the preschool crowd. I’m so excited to see that someone had this idea, we’d love to get to know some of the other kids in the neighborhood and I know that Abi would love to have some friends to come over and play on her swingset! My phone number is 865-388-3403.
